Shareholder Leaves Anapol Schwartz for Small Firm in Media

March 21, 2008

Kevin R. Marciano has joined 6-lawyer personal injury firm Cherry Fieger & Cherry in Media, Pa., as a partner, effectively changing the firm name to Cherry Fieger & Marciano.

Marciano said it was his long-running working relationship with firm head David R. Cherry that enticed him to make the move from 30-lawyer personal injury firm Anapol Schwartz Weiss Cohan Feldman & Smalley where he was a shareholder.

“Dave and I have known each other for a long time and we have a similar philosophy,” he said. “We have great chemistry because we’ve worked together on a lot of cases.”

Cherry said Marciano “fits right in” at the firm.

“Basically we wanted to build on our practice of doing serious injury cases,” he said. “Kevin was really perfect for us.”

Both Marciano and Anapol Schwartz managing partner Joel Feldman described the split as amicable.

“It was a natural progression,” Marciano said. “I wasn’t unhappy at Anapol and I’m very thankful and grateful for the opportunity they gave me.”

But, he added, he had “always, in the back of my mind, foreseen leaving [Anapol Schwartz].”

Feldman said he didn’t necessarily think that was the case.

“I’m not sure that I agree that it’s such a natural progression,” he said.

Feldman said his firm will miss Marciano and hopes to continue working with him on cases in the future but will not be affected by his departure.

“I think this is a bigger move for Kevin than it is for us,” he said.

Marciano said he plans to spend half his time working out of Cherry Fieger’s Media office and the other half working out of its Philadelphia office, just as he did at Anapol Schwartz.
